BathNES pilot:

prizes and “BetterPoints”
for your WEEE

A new
WEEE/used EEE programme
within Bath and North East Somerset

Through a combination of awareness raising, education & incentivization, this pilot aims to increase the amount of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) collected and used EEE refurbished and donated to poorer communities.

Children from 5 to 11, their parents, teachers, families, residents in BathNES.

  HOW

This Pilot will promote a free BetterPoints app for people to download and earn rewards for recycling their WEEE and used EEE by scanning QR codes on bins at recycling centres and schools in the city. The QR code scanner is built into the app and a digital currency in the form of “BetterPoints” that can be exchanged for high street shopping vouchers or donated to charity, are earned for each scan. In addition to earning BetterPoints for recycling activities, participants in the school’s programme will be able to earn “BetterTickets”, which enter them into a prize draw.
